| We are looking for a volunteer in the areas of fundraising, communications and reporting. Experience or skills in any of these areas would be helpful, but not required; we are prepared to train the right candidate. Helpful skills include event planning, grant writing, newsletter writing or publishing, web site management or development, writing, editing, graphic design, clerical, and typing. Join a dynamic group of individuals motivated by helping others, particularly in the areas of affordable housing, youth and the environment. NOAH has excellent programming designed to help low- and moderate-income individuals and families find and maintain affordable housing. We build and develop affordable housing units, offer foreclosure prevention counseling and mitigation work, hold workshops and inidividualing counseling for first time homebuyers, have low-cost repair and rehab. programs for senior citizens, have rental housing counseling and placement, and manage our own affordable units, 20% of which are dedicated to the homeless. We also perform social benefits work, and have a summer playground program for over 200 elementary school children each year, a youth soccer program, a youth internship program, teach English for Speakers of Other Languages/ESOL, help rebuild school playgrounds, and more. We have extensive programming in environmental issues, as well; and our organization and another, together, make up the Chelsea Creek Action Group/CCAG, which works to clean up the polluted Chelsea River (the second most polluted body of water in the Commonwealth) as well as the communities of East Boston and Chelsea (the fifth and third most polluted communities in the State). The time frame for this opportunity is extremely flexible, as are the hours. Ad provided by Idealist.org |
